Summit tour on the Glungezer

With the Glungezer cable car we move up from Tulfes to the Tulfeinalm mountain station. From there, the hike leads through old stone pine stands to Zirbensee and Zirbenweg. There are many stories, legends and anecdotes about the so-called white mountain Glungezer (2677m), which makes the way to the summit entertaining. With one of the oldest stone pine stands in Europe, the Tux Alps are a unique natural jewel!

Bumper ‘Klumper’ fun in Tulfes The latest cult sport is riding a ‘Klumper’ (a sled with a single runner).

Young and old take to the slopes and even race each other. Warm up with a mug of hot mulled wine or punch – and then it’s up to you. Let your hair down and give it a go! ‘Klumper’ sleds are provided free of charge by the Tulfes Klumper Club. ‘Klumper’meets are held every Thursday from December 2014 to February 2015 (aside from Thursday, 26 February).
